This is a great post about perseverance!

Cole in Transition

Greetings to you all this lovely Monday morning (my way of boosting myself for the dreaded Monday morning).  Last week I was greeted with a few obstacles on this weight loss journey.  Projects for my son at school, responsibilities with family gatherings and a GINORMOUS migraine that hung around for 3 whole days!!  It no doubt kept me from working out at my usual capacity of approximately 8-10 workouts a week.  I actually may have only gotten in around 4.  Oh how this disappointed me!  I even began to feel a little defeated.  I constantly gave myself little pep talks that went a little something like this maybe you can relate….” This is for your overall health, don’t worry it will get better next week, you’ve come too far to stop now you’ve done great!”  Still I knew this morning was weigh in day.  I reluctantly approached the scale and stepped…

Want To Get Dirty?

In Culture, Family, Friends on October 16, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Hey guys! Sorry for the delayed post. It’s courtesy of WSU’s Master in Health Comm program for keeping me drowning in projects.

Nevertheless, I wanted to tell you all about a really cool event called Go Dirty Girl. Sorry fellas, this is a women’s only event. Dirty Girl is a 5k mud run for women of all ages and athletic abilities. It is an untimed obstacle course and not a “race.” The group I’m in is called the Pretty Mudder Fudders and we’ll be in the Detroit, MI 5k in June 2013. I’m super excited about this event and I encourage women all over to check out the website and become informed about it. Even if you don’t get around to joining the event (registration ends in November 2012), you can come to be a spectator and encourage the other teams. Orrrr you can keep it in mind and try to make it in 2014. There will be music, grown people drinks, and rallying for a great cause. Part of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Check out the link below for more info.
