For Lovers Only

“For Lovers Only”

This ain’t for the ones
That just love for fun
That just love and run
that just hold the gun
This is for
Those that bleed
That want but have no need
This ain’t for the war
this is only

For Lovers only
lovers only
Strictly for the lovers only
Who are lost and lonely

Ever since the way you looked at me
love is not a want
love is now a need

This is if you want to hold me
Or for lovers only
not for the easy
This ain’t bout that style
Its about a take it day by day
its about a wait thats worth it baby

Ever since the day you look at me
Ever since the way
love is not a want
love is now a need
now a need
not just cuz i got nobody
not just cuz i got nobody
This is only

For Lovers only
lovers only
Strictly for the lovers only
Who are lost and lonely

Ever since the day you look at me
Ever since the way
love is not a want
love is now a need
now a need
not just cuz I got nobody
not just cuz I got nobody
This is only

For Lovers only
lovers only
Strictly for the lovers only
Who are lost and lonely

Cool Braided Updo

Still rocking my box braids and attempting to find innovative styles.

Here’s a pic of one of my fav styles. The back (which is not pictured) is a faux french braid and the front is tucked and pinned. I found a great  Box Braid Style tutorial on YouTube. It’s posted by Tiarra Monet. Check it out below!

You Have Been Loved

In Relationships on August 22, 2012 at 3:47 pm

I’m in a trip-hop mood today so I’ve been playing Zero 7 & Sia all day. Here’s a great song titled “You Have Been Loved” by Sia off of her album “Some People Have Real Problems” (I love the title of the album alone). This is a great song that tells the story of a person who truly loved their mate and although the relationship did not work out they are satisfied with the truth that they genuinely loved them.

The lyrics are:

You shot me up, yeah
You filled my cup, oh
You sailed my boat
You were my last hope
You took my very last hope away

Oh you, you will be loved by someone good
And you, you will be loved by somebody good
You have been loved

You dropped the bomb
And now you’re gone
I held you dear
You swallowed my fears
And now I’ve drunk my last beer with you

Oh you, you have been loved by someone good
Yeah you, you will be loved
Oh will you ever know
That the bitterness and anger left me long ago
Only sadness remains
And it will pass

Yeah you you will be loved by somebody good
By somebody good

Bad Luck Charm

Bad Luck Charm

I have been having an extreme amount of bad luck lately. Car accident in both of my cars? Check! *waves goodbye to the front end of my car & side mirror* Phone broken? Check! Identity stolen and tax returns filed by the imposter? Cheeeeck! I could go on but I’ve already bored myself in retelling it. Now here’s the crazy part…I’m still smiling! Ha! Take that Devil, with all your bad luck banter.

So, to any of you who have been having an unlucky day, week, month or year things will get better! They have to. Scientifically speaking (ok, probably not “scientifically speaking”), you’re at the bottom and there’s no other way for you to look but up. So stay focused and encouraged!

Oh, and feel free to share any of your bad luck turned good luck stories!

Love Is You

Love is You by Chrisette Michele

I absolutely heart this song (click the YouTube link above to hear it). My favorite lyrics are:

Is it possible there’s a kiss that’s so divine?
Or am I just a fool? Is it all in my mind?
Is there something chemical? A scientist might say.
‘Cause love must be a drug to make me feel this way…

I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I do. To those who are in love, enjoy your happy and healthy relationships. For those of you who have not yet found true love don’t give up the hunt…it’s sometimes the last key that opens the door 🙂

Babe in Braids

Box Braids: Versatile and Carefree

I have had my hair in medium sized box braids for the past month and I love them. When my hair was first braided people were saying “I mean, what can you really do with braids? How many styles can you really have?” And in my opinion braids can be very versatile. I find a new way to twist my hair up or pin it back every other day to the point where everyone is now saying “Charm, everyday it’s a different style with you!” *shrugs* Oh well, it’s my hair and I can be as creative as I want. This pic is one of my favorite styles. It’s a braided top bun positioned towards the front of my head. Over the next few weeks I’ll post other styles.

Cheers to making everyday a good hair day 🙂

Act Like A Lady

In Uncategorized on August 1, 2012 at 11:25 pm

At times we can have the desire or want for a dream but lack the confidence & wherewithal to will it into existence. In setting goals for myself I’ve always found motivational quotes to be helpful. The one above is a good alternate to the “Act like a lady, think like a man” tagline of which I am not a fan. I feel that that tagline implies that men are more competent thinkers than women, which then implies that women are emotional thinkers and of course (in my opinion) neither are true. So ladies, there you have it. Act like a lady and think like a boss. Be inspired, be honest with yourself and where you are in relation to your goals, & be a boss!
