Life Is Short

In Beauty, Culture, Family, Friends, Relationships, Work on June 22, 2012 at 9:12 pm

Everyday my friends, family members, colleagues and acquaintances complain about just about everything. They either hate their life, their job, their mate, their friends, and the list goes on and on. I am guilty of doing this too. But then, today, as someone was talking to me and unloading a barrage of complaints I looked right through him and had an epiphany. Life is short! Too short to be in any situations that you don’t want OR need to be in. See, the problem is that people fool themselves (or allow others to convince them) into believing that  they truly have control over only a few things. But you are completely in control of your life if you decide to take the responsibility for it. For example, you’re dating someone and you hate the relationship you’re in? Leave! You hate your job and the thought of going makes it hard for you to get out of bed? Get a new job. Create a short-term exit strategy and give yourself a due date to find new employment. You have crappy “friends” that you don’t like because they treat you poorly? Forget about them.

All in all, it’s important for people to remember that constantly repeating negativity will just keep you housed in a negative mental state. You have to think more positive and at least celebrate the things in your life that are positive on a daily basis and more like-minded people will surface.

  1. some great observations and advice

  2. I love this Post…

All the negativity people deal with in their lives instead of doing something about it is cutting their lives short.. They’re not only missing out on living a satisfying life, they’re also living it stressed and unhealthy. I think some people don’t make changes and they just complain about everything because they’re afraid. I’m not sure if they’re afraid of change or just afraid to be happy and not have something to complain about.

“Stay Positive and Live Healthy” : )

    • Thank you very much for your comment. And you’re right, negative thinking and behavior is unhealthy. There are so many bad physiological effects that occur from stress that people don’t realize.

  3. What do you mean by it not being “that” short? See, that’s the thing about life Remy, you have no idea when it will end therefore (and I wouldn’t even say in a figurative sense) it’s assumed to be short. Fair?
